Exercise is Life, Health and Medicine

Our body is designed to move. We can only attain optimum health and wellness if we have regular physical activity and exercise. In fact, mobility was considered as the single strongest predictor in longevity along with education, employment and occupation.(1)

Regular exercise improves our body immune response to infection by increasing T-cells and boost the function of the natural killer cells in the immune system.(2)

Regular activity improves blood glucose control and can prevent or delay type 2 diabetes, along with positively affecting lipids, blood pressure, cardiovascular events, mortality, and quality of life.(3)

Physical activity not only prevents depression, but it is also good treatment for those who are depressed. Further, it is useful in treating other mental illnesses including episodes of anxiety, ongoing anxiety, and panic disorder.(4)

It is recommended that exercise that requires rhythmic motion of large muscle groups like walking, jogging, swimming and cycling for at least 30 minutes 3 times in minimum to 6 times a week is much better.
